Wire to Wire aims to be your waiver wire resource for all of your fantasy basketball needs. It will dive into playing time trends, injury replacements, and even an occasional category specialist—all of which can be found on a typical waiver wire within your fantasy league at any given time.
A lot of common names are mentioned this week. Some have received elevated playing time due to injuries, while one specific baller will get more time simply because he’s on the same team as Ron Artest. Add John Salmons to the list of players who got a late- season boost thanks to playing with Artest at any point in their careers. We may be adding this to future theories for drafting purposes. Until then, we’ll just focus on players that you can add this week to get you to the playoffs.

Dime Day: Playoff Primer
Posted by Alvin Lai Categories: Atlantic Division, Central Division, H2H, Northwest Division, Pacific Division, Site Features, Southeast Division, Southwest Division,
Time to look ahead to the fantasy playoffs! Although there is definitely a luck factor in head-to-head play, these leagues are a lot of fun. This primer assumes your weekly match-up starts on the Monday of the week, and ends on the Sunday. In Yahoo! leagues, the h2h playoffs start during Week 22, March 26-April 1. These leagues also tend to extend championship week to include the few days at the end of the season. So below, you will see a “Week 24+” designation, which includes games to be played between April 9th and April 18th.
Use this primer to evaluate your current roster and each player’s fantasy playoff schedule. Manipulating the number of games played in each playoff week could be the edge you need to win your fantasy league. Is Lebron the guy to bring you the bling-bling? Check it out below to find out!

Stat’s All Folks: He’s Playing Better Than The Quality Of His Shoes
Posted by Dennis Velasco Categories: Disses, Free Agency, H2H, Injuries, Props, Rookies, Roto, Site Features, Sleepers, Waiver Pick Ups,
Stat’s All Folks will be a week-to-week stock market look at the standard cumulative categories – points, assists, rebounds, three-pointers made, steals, and blocks.
I’ll be calling out the “bulls” and “bears” in each category, in order to help you assess your portfolio of players on your fantasy basketball team(s) and whether you should sell, hold, and/or diversify your assets.
Note that you won’t always see the superstar player written about in this column, otherwise it would be LeBron James or Steve Nash every week. So, check out who’s bullish and who’s bearish coming into the week.
Statistics are from February 23rd – March 1st.
POINTSBULLISH
Stephon Marbury, PG, New York Knicks
Last Week’s Numbers of Note: 4 G; 23.0 PPG; 46.8 FG%; 78.6 FT%
Marbury has been playing like the Starbury of old, the self-proclaimed “best point guard” in the NBA. It’s funny how that was statement was associated with Steve Nash who then went on to back-to-back MVP awards. However, this is not to bash Steph, but to praise him. In his last four games he’s scored at least 22 points and with backcourt mate Jamal Crawford, the only consistent Knicks guard this season, possibly out for the season, you can expect Marbury’s value to keep rising, especially with the Knicks having a chance at the playoffs thanks to playing in the Leastern Conference.

While the center position has given plenty of owners fits over the last few months, the recent demise of many guards have left owners in a bind. From Baron Davis and Dwyane Wade to the recent additions of Shaun Livingston and Sam Cassell, it just hasn’t been pretty for point guards as of late. While I definitely recommend checking out my colleague Ron Chow’s Injury Lowdown, the waiver wire help will be tackled below. On to this week’s recommendations…

Will the injuries ever stop this season?!? Fantasy ballers need a bottle of Pepto Bismol to stomach all the injuries this year. This year, fantasy championships could be a war of attrition – the healthiest team may have the best chance to take the championship in your league. This session of the Injury Lowdown will look into the slew of recent injuries.
